Tye
Hi,my name is Tye and I was a shelter dog from Virginia; Leslie Burgard and Hoss’ Homeless Hotel came to my rescue! Leslie brought me to State College where I stayed at Metzger Animal Hospital for a few weeks until I was parasite free. During my stay there, I found my owner, Mandy~ it was love at first sight! I live on a farm; I’d like to think I run the show. I was a little afraid of the livestock at first but now I tell them who is boss! The ducks are my favorite. They leave little presents behind that taste so yummy and it also squishes all over me when I roll in it! My other favorite snack is silage; it makes my stomach a little queasy but I love it! I have a 4-wheeler too. I blaze the trails but when I get tired my mom or dad let me ride with them. I love my family and my new home! Thank you Leslie and Hoss’ Homeless Hotel for my fantastic family; keep finding homes for helpless, homeless dogs like me!
Jessie
Hi! I’m Jessie. When I was about seven months old, Andrea and Paul adopted me. They keep calling me “just a puppy”! Then I give them that “puppy eyes” look, tilt my head just a little bit, and everything falls back into place. Talk about a learning curve! This relationship looks like a life long challenge, but if they continue to do their homework, it should flow like warm butter. As long as they keep on getting expert training advice and thoroughly study the best literature on dogs, we can make progress. They are trying to figure out body language, and single word communication. It all takes patients, when dealing with creatures that really can’t smell a thing like slipper sox or old gloves. So far I have them trained to keep the treats and toys flowing my way, so I reward them with the famous “nap on the lap” trick. The key to this whole thing is, always let them think that they are in control. Jessie, Andrea and Paul
Hayley
Hayley has crept into our hearts and her forever home. For a fairly young pup she can be extremely mellow. She is quite content to lie in her bed or chew on a bone for long periods of time, but is ready to play or snuggle if you give her the opportunity. We are not sure which is her most charming feature her cute little face complete with slight underbite and "black lipstick" or her ability to leap onto your lap and give you a kiss in a nanosecond! Hayley loves people! Kids can carry her around like a baby and she does not mind at all. We have nicknamed her "CatDog" since she is so light on her feet. A JRT mix with long legs, she can leap like a cat and kneads a spot and circles before lying down with us on the couch. Leslie found the perfect dog for us. We love Hayley! The Nese family
Ruby
Let me tell
you a little about Ruby (aka Hoss Homeless Hotel’s Absolute Gem). Ruby is so
amazing, that those who do not meet her think I am must be exaggerating when I
describe her. She adores people. She will go right up to a new person, wagging
her tail. She snuggles with me when I’m sitting on the couch. In the next
moment, she is ready to learn a new trick or go for a half hour walk. She is
very, very smart, and makes us laugh when she wiggles around. It’s easy to trim
her nails and give her a bath, if she has a toy she will share it with you, and
she is so calm
at
her routine vet appointments that they can’t believe it. She stays quietly in
her crate when needed and gets along great with our other dog. She is able to
size up another dog in the blink of an eye, knowing immediately if that dog is a
friend, a kook or a whippersnapper who thinks too highly of himself. By the way,
she weighs ten pounds. And it’s all heart.
Thank you, Leslie and Hoss Homeless Hotel, for bringing this absolute gem into our lives.
Willow
We think our dog Willow is THE greatest dog ever.
Willow knows how to hang with the family: when everyone is energetic and ready
to play
AND when everyone is ready to lay around and watch TV. She LOVES
people (especially us), other dogs, chewing on squeaky toys and giving "high
5's". We are soooo thankful for Leslie and sooo thankful for Willow.
love,
the Sundays (Rob, Kris, Riley and Gabe)

Mickey
Mickey is the best dog we have ever had. He is very gentle and calm. I have three children and they all love him. My four year old carries him around like a baby and he is just so mellow!!! He loves to ride in the car and be with us as much as he can. We thank Leslie for finding him for us. It is amazing that in the few months that I knew Leslie, she knew what we were looking for in a dog, and she brought the perfect one home for our family. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Mickey now has his forever home!!! Denise
Jack
Mississippi Jack's loving, playful disposition and cuddling nature make him a "perfect fit" for our family. His favorite pasttimes include spending time with his "kids", Ryan and Maddie, and snuggling and/or playing with his "big brother," yellow-lab Jordan. When Leslie found Jack, she found the perfect addition for our family.

Stella

Bella
"We are so happy to have Bella! She loves playing ball and fetch with the kids. She is a wonderful, sweet dog who has brought lots of laughs and smiles into our family. She has quickly become the kids best buddy. We are thankful that Leslie found her and brought her to us!"

Sadie
Hoss’ Homeless Hotel couldn’t have found a more perfect dog to fit into our family. Sadie’s personality is one of a kind, and it’s a rare moment when her tail is not wagging. She is a born runner, and is completely content to run at full speed. Yet, her interests can range from total energy to complete relaxation. Sadie is a girl that is just as content to hike in the woods, as she is to lay next to you while watching T.V. (using you as a pillow of course!) We could not have asked for a more amazing dog, and are grateful to Leslie and HHH for bringing her to us!
