The community outreach program is always in need of various basic supplies that can be easily stored and distributed to fellow community members when they need it most. The following items are a huge help:
Large metal bowls and water buckets – hard, solid plastic bowls work well too but metal is always preferred
Interactive toys and chewing stuff- Kong toys (the larger the better), Nylabone products, rawhide rolls, pressed rawhide bones and hard sterilized bones are all good toys/chewies that some dogs never get spoiled with without your help!
Treats/biscuits- any and all kinds- these simple treats are the first offering to community members to help build trust and a relationship with HHH so we can continue to help in the future.
Bedding- old blankets, throw rugs, sheets and towels are always put to good use keeping transport animals warm and happy. Gently used dog/cat beds are also a huge hit with the shelter transports- they love to snuggle in for their first truly restful night outside the shelter!
Gift cards for any major gas station- gas for transports is a major expense for HHH and any support in this venture is much appreciated!
Financial support in any denomination- each relationship we make in the community is different as are the needs of those involved in those relationships. Often a specific item is needed to help a certain family give their pet that extra bit of love they need. Monetary donations enable HHH to provide those “special needs” items when they are needed most.
Financial support also helps offset the medical costs for transport animals as well as provide needed medical care for community members that may not otherwise be able to provide it for their pets in an emergency.
To donate an item or make a monetary contribution, please contact Leslie at info@hosshomelesshotel.com. Donations of any kind can be dropped off at Metzger Animal Hospital on Benner Pike in State College, Pa. Arrangements can also be made to pick up items!
